The U.S. Navy needed a small portable battery powered electric heat gun to be used safely for heat shrinking and soldering in restricted spaces on fueled aircraft in the field.  Malcom sourced the Leister Hot Jet S hot air tool, the smallest and most powerful heat gun on the planet, available in 42 VDC, 120 VAC and 230 VAC, from 300 watts to 600 watts, able to reach temperatures up to 1250 degrees F. The Leister Hotjet S includes an internal fan making it very portable.

With the Leister 42 VDC Hot Jet tool S, Malcom developed a DC power supply and presented a prototype to the U.S. Navy for testing.  After rigorous Military testing the tool was accepted and we received our first contract for this tool in 1999.  By 2012 we had nearly 3000 of these units in the field being used by all branches of the U.S. Department of the Defense and commercially throughout the world.

With nearly 100 hot air nozzles available, the Leister Hotjet S can be used for a wide range of applications in just about every industry.  The Leister Hotjet S has a broad temperature range and with the 120 VAC and 230 VAC units the temperatures are infinitely adjustable between ambient and 1250 F in addition the tool includes adjustable air flow controls.

Malcom is an Leister Authorized Distributor suppling Leister products exclusively to the US Government and US Government Contractors throughout the world. Leister supplies the 42 VDC Hot Jet S, part number 111.038, exclusively to Malcom Company where it is used in Malcom's battery powered heat gun kits, the MCH-100-A and the MCH-100-C.

The Leister 42 VDC Hot Jet hot air tool is available for purchase direct from Malcom or through GSA Advantage.
